Smooth driving
A patent for what would become known as “cruise control” was awarded to a blind inventor, Ralph Teetor, in 1945. He got the idea from the uncomfortable experience of being a passenger in cars with drivers who sped up and slowed down in a jerky fashion. By 1960, cruise control would be featured in Cadillacs.
