CD players in cars
Though the first factory installed CD player was installed in 1985, they didn’t gain popularity until the 1990s. CD players were a real boon for music enthusiasts, since CDs could be played thousands of times with no degradation in sound quality. Plus, it was suddenly easy to skip forward and back to the songs you loved without time-consuming (and driver distracting) rewinds.
