Q. What do you do for Persis?
I am a Business Analyst in the Connected Vehicle program at Ford. I help the business identify and relay project requirements to the development teams, and ensure that the business’ needs are met by the resulting product.
Q. What’s your background? How did you get into this field?
I’ve been in the IT business for 30 years in a variety of roles mainly in the Automotive and Healthcare industries. I was around for the birth of the home computer and from my first exposure to computers in high school it’s something that caught my interest and seemed a good fit for me. But I’ve always been most comfortable working in the middle ground between the business and the developers. I’m a car guy, so I really enjoy working with Ford and making a contribution to something I’m passionate about.
Q. What one thing are people always surprised to learn about you?
I have an identical twin brother who also works in IT. We have crossed paths a few times throughout our careers, even working for the same company at one time and with the same customers at others. It’s always fun when someone approaches me thinking that I am my brother.
Q. What is your favorite TV show?
I love The Walking Dead. I’ve never been a fan of zombie movies, but I started watching the show in the 2nd season and quickly learned that it’s about so much more than zombies. It’s very interesting thinking about how different people would face such a situation and about the difficult choices they would have to make.
Q. What do you do in your spare time?
I’m a car guy and in particular a huge fan of the Mustang. In fact, I am an officer in a Mustang Owners club and have been for several years. I have a Mustang that I like taking to car shows and other club events. I’ve even been drag racing a few times. My wife recently started getting involved in an off-roading club with her Jeep so I’ve gotten into that with her. It’s an interesting adjustment as intentionally driving your car into mud goes against every instinct I have.
