Thomas Groth
Q. What do you do for Persis?
I provide Systems Architecture consulting services to Persis clients. I’m currently assigned to Ford Motor Company.
Q. What’s your background and how did you get into this field?
I started as an electrical engineer but quickly moved into embedded systems architecture. For the last six years I have been focusing on Telematics and the IT systems that they are built upon.
Q. What one thing are people always surprised to learn about you?
I roast my own coffee and drink it as a triple “ristretto”.
Q. What’s your favorite movie and why?
Fantasia 2000 – I love classical music and the movie is beautifully animated.
Q. If you were not working for Persis, and you could do anything you wanted to do, what would your dream job be?
I like meeting people of different cultures and tasting their food, so having a TV show like “Parts Unknown” seems ideal.
Q. What do you do in your spare time?
Lots of cooking, repairing things, outdoor sports (mountain biking, kayaking) and working on a degree in Autonomous Driving (topics like machine learning, neural networks and sensor fusion).
